I am a copy editor and writer at SmartBrief in Washington, D.C. I previously worked as a copy editor for two newspapers in upstate New York: the Times Herald-Record in Middletown and The Daily Star in Oneonta.

I am originally from Towson, Md., just outside Baltimore. I have a Master of Science in Journalism degree from the Medill School at Northwestern University (Class of 2008) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with honors from Calvin University, formerly Calvin College (Class of 2003).

In my free time, I like to read, write, cook and bake, volunteer, drink coffee, root for the Nationals, Knights and Wildcats, and go to concerts. I’m also always up for a good game of bar trivia, especially if it’s with other “Jeopardy!” folk.
